Grant applications are reviewed quarterly on a January to December calendar basis.
The applicant must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity or be represented by a qualified fiscal agent with a grassroots initiative that relies on fundraising as its primary means of support, lacking access to other significant funding sources.
The organization must provide services or conduct projects within Laurens County in one or more of the following areas:
- Basic Needs and Poverty Alleviation: Poverty relief, housing assistance (construction/renovation for low-income families and the homeless), food and shelter programs, and transportation services for underserved populations.
- Community and Faith-Based Initiatives: Ministries or organizations focused on improving the lives of those less fortunate through direct support and community engagement.
- Health and Wellness: Medical and health-related programs for underserved populations, services for individuals with disabilities (e.g., wheelchair ramp construction), mental health support, and addiction recovery programs.
- Education and Workforce Development: Educational and literacy programs for youth and children, reintegration and job training for formerly incarcerated or low-income individuals.
- Social Services and Advocacy: Support services for victims of abuse, addiction recovery, and social services aimed at improving the quality of life for disadvantaged individuals.
- Animal Welfare: Programs dedicated to the protection and care of animals.
